From 6:00 a.m. on November 27, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province requested to stop all activities at sea. Workers in cages must return to shore before 6:00 p.m. on November 28 to ensure safety against storm No. 15.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm No. 15 is expected to last nearly 6 days (November 27 - December 1), continuously affecting the Truong Sa area of Khanh Hoa.
The storm will cause heavy rain in the provinces from Gia Lai to Khanh Hoa. These are all localities that have just suffered heavy damage due to the previous flood, causing a very high risk of landslides because the soil has saturated water.
Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong said that the province is urgently overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, while activating response plans for storm No. 15.
The Provincial Civil Defense Command simultaneously deploys 3 scenarios: Storm prevention, flood prevention and landslide prevention. Natural disaster prevention forces are ready at the highest level.
The whole province has 64 reservoirs reaching 75% of the designed capacity; many large lakes such as Suoi Dau, Song Cai, Song Co 1 have to release water to regulate to welcome new floods. The work of evacuating people in vulnerable locations is being urgently deployed.
Currently, Khanh Hoa has recorded 179 points at risk of landslides and deep flooding in Nha Trang, National Highway 27C, Provincial Road 9, Khanh Son Pass...
Localities are required to continuously monitor, make a list of households that need to be relocated and prepare safe accommodation with enough food, clean water, medicine, and be ready to evacuate at any time.
Areas that are often isolated such as Dien Dien commune, Tay Nha Trang ward, Ninh Phuoc commune... are given special attention. If necessary, forced relocation will be carried out to ensure safety.
Up to this point, all fishing vessels of the province and vessels operating in the Khanh Hoa sea area have received information and proactively sought shelter from storm No. 15.
The whole province currently has 3,782 aquaculture households with 134,563 cages on 18 hectares of oyster and ruoi farming; along with 6,953 fishing vessels with 36,498 workers. Of which, 344 ships/2,923 workers are operating at sea.

Policies to support people are being implemented in parallel, including: Support of 1 million VND/person; 60 million VND/household with a completely collapsed house; support of 500,000 VND/student to buy books; opening "no-ope" booths, stabilizing prices so that people do not lack necessities while avoiding the storm.
