Warning level of natural disaster risk due to level 2-3 floods.
High floods combined with high tides can cause flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, coastal areas, and alluvial areas outside the main dike; causing overflow and breakage of riverside dikes, affecting waterway traffic, aquaculture, agricultural production and socio-economic activities. High flood levels for many days can cause landslides of embankments, affecting the safety of river dikes.
According to preliminary statistics from the Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Vu Thu District (Thai Binh Province), as of 4:00 p.m.
yesterday, September 11, Vu Thu District had 5,000 hectares of rice, 1,100 hectares of vegetables, 300 hectares of fruit trees, 550 hectares of locust trees, 500 hectares of other trees, 400 hectares of aquaculture area flooded, 8 fishing boats of Tan Lap Commune residents sank, 30 square meters of fish cages were swept away by water. In recent days, the coastal communes in Vu Thu District have organized the evacuation of people and property to safe places.
Of which, Vu Van Commune alone has evacuated about 700 households with 2,100 people from 4 villages to safe places. Vu Thu district has mobilized more than 500 workers along with many equipment and materials for natural disaster prevention, strengthening vulnerable points, and preventing dike overflow in the communes of Viet Thuan, Bach Thuan, Hong Ly, Tan Phong, Hong Phong, and Viet Hung.
Up to now, 100% of the national dike system in Vu Thu district, including 35.6km of level 1 dike on the left dike of Hong Ha II and 22.4km of level 2 dike on the right dike of Tra Ly, are still safe and stable.
