On the morning of November 8, the leader of the People's Committee of Luong Son commune (Lam Dong province) said that due to heavy rain lasting from the evening of November 7, the flood water on the Luy River rose, causing many residential areas and crop areas in the area to be deeply flooded.
According to the Song Luy Hydrological Station, at around 11pm on November 7, the water level reached 28.1m, exceeding alert level II by 0.6m. The large amount of water poured in quickly, causing local flooding in many residential areas along both sides of the river.
Preliminary statistics show that the whole commune has about 170 houses flooded under 1m, concentrated in Luong Bac, Luong Tay, Luong Binh and Tan Son villages.
More than 200 hectares of crops such as corn and vegetables were also damaged by flooding.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Vo Tien Trung - Chairman of Luong Son Commune People's Committee - said: As soon as the flood occurred, the Luong Son Commune Civil Defense Command mobilized local forces to coordinate with villages to organize response.

The forces have supported people to move their assets and livestock out of the danger zone; prepare vehicles and materials to be ready for rescue in case of emergency situations.
According to Mr. Trung, currently, households in low-lying areas have proactively evacuated to safe places immediately after receiving warnings from local authorities. The work of overcoming and clearing the environment after floods is being implemented.
The People's Committee of Luong Son commune added that the locality is continuing to closely monitor the developments of floods and rains, regularly warning people; proactively responding to the minimum damage to people and property.

According to the People's Committee of Luong Son commune, during the flood from October 26 to 30, local people suffered heavy damage, with more than 840 houses deeply flooded; over 2,550 items and properties of the people such as TVs, refrigerators, washing machines were damaged; about 695 hectares of crops of all kinds were damaged. The total estimated damage caused by floods to Luong Son commune is 30.5 billion VND.

On November 7, in village 3, Son My commune, prolonged heavy rain caused 6 houses of people to be severely affected.
Tan Thang Border Guard Station mobilized officers and soldiers to coordinate with local authorities and functional forces to reinforce the temporary embankment, move assets and support people to overcome the damage.
Forces work through the day in complex weather conditions, to minimize the risk of further damage caused by heavy rain.

On the same afternoon, Hoa Minh Border Guard Station coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phan Ba Cua commune to present 2 gifts (each worth 5 million VND) to support the family of Mr. Ly Ngoc Thai (Phu Tan village) and Mr. Tran Hai (Phu Hoa village). These are two households that suffered heavy damage when their boat sank due to floods.
The Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard Command continues to direct units to maintain on-duty shifts, communication systems, and prepare rescue forces and means to promptly support people in areas at risk of deep flooding and landslides.
