On October 27, the provincial Department of Construction issued document No. 265/TB-SXD on notifying traffic flow and organization through the Lo River Bridge, in the old Doan Hung District.
Accordingly, from 1:00 p.m. on October 27, all people and vehicles are prohibited from crossing the Lo River bridge until further notice.
According to document No. 634/UBND-KT dated the same day from the People's Committee of Doan Hung commune sent to the People's Committee of Phu Tho province and the Department of Construction, the above suspension of traffic is necessary, the reason being that the Lo River bridge and the T3 bored pile were damaged.
According to the People's Committee of Doan Hung commune, the ban on all people and vehicles traveling through the bridge has isolated more than 2,500 households with 9,700 people in the old Hop Nhat commune, causing serious difficulties in accessing essential services such as healthcare and education.
Along with that, the current traffic diversion directions make students go to school every day with a distance of more than 40km (if crossing the bridge, the distance is only about 3km).
Therefore, the People's Committee of Doan Hung commune proposed that the People's Committee of Phu Tho province direct the Department of Construction and related units to coordinate with Doan Hung commune to study and propose solutions to resolve the above difficulties and problems.
Song Lo Bridge is a bridge across the Lo River in Doan Hung Commune. This bridge started construction in August 2010, and was officially inaugurated and put into use on March 21, 2015.
