Through investigation by camera traps, the Management Board of Pu Hu Nature Reserve (BTTN) has recorded the appearance of 5 species of Thischer, many of which are endangered and rare species that need to be strictly protected.

Investigation activities are being implemented according to Decision No. 4052/QD-UBND dated October 10, 2024 of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province on approving the outline and budget for the implementation of the task of conserving plant species, combined with investigation of conservation and development of a number of medicinal plants under the forest canopy at Pu Hu Inland Water Resources and Environment. The task will be carried out in the period of 20242026.

In the two years 2024-2025, the Pu Hu IPA Management Board has coordinated with the consulting unit to investigate and monitor the species of young trees using a camera trap system set in many key forest areas. The results recorded 5 species of sturgeon distributed in the reserve, including 2 species in group IB and 3 species in group IIB according to Circular 27/2025/TT-BNNMT dated June 24, 2025 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
The IB group includes prionodon pardicolor and chrotogale owstoni - endangered, rare, highly protected species. Group IIB includes Paguma larvata, Paradoxurus hermaphroditus and Viverra zibetha.

The recording of species of straw through camera traps not only provides important scientific data on biodiversity, but also shows that the forest ecosystem in the Puu Hu backpacking site still maintains suitable living conditions for many wild animals with high conservation value.

A representative of the Pu Hu Environment Management Board said that with the attention and support of authorities at all levels and functional agencies, the unit will continue to implement nature conservation tasks in a systematic manner, contributing to protecting forest resources, preserving biodiversity and improving the effectiveness of reserve management in the coming time.
