Rain appeared with gusts of wind and thunder in some places, causing visibility to decrease, many roads were slightly flooded, and people had difficulty moving during rush hour. Some motorcyclists had to stop under the eaves or overpasses to avoid the rain.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, in the next 3 hours, convective clouds will continue to develop and cause showers with thunderstorms and lightning on a large scale in Ho Chi Minh City and some neighboring areas.
Areas likely to experience thunderstorms include Cau Ong Lanh, Binh Tien, Tan Hung, Phu Dinh, Tan Tao wards; Tan Vinh Loc, Binh Loi, Tan Nhut, Binh Hung, Thanh An, Dau Tieng, Long Hai, Phuoc Hai, Thanh An communes. After that, the rain area tends to expand to Tan Son Nhi, Binh Phu, Binh Tri Dong wards; Vinh Loc, My Hanh, Long Hoa, Nha Bich communes and surrounding areas.
Common rainfall is from 10-30 mm, in some places over 50 mm. During thunderstorms, people need to be wary of tornadoes, lightning, hail, strong gusts of wind at level 5-7 (8-17 m/s) and the risk of localized flooding in low-lying areas.
The meteorological agency said that the cause of thunderstorms is due to the Southwest monsoon operating with moderate intensity.
