Ho Chi Minh City - On July 27, when expanding the second grave trench at Le Thi Rieng Park, functional forces exhumed 8 more martyrs' remains, raising the total to 125 sets.

According to the latest report from the Repatriation Team of Martyrs' remains under the Ho Chi Minh City Command, search work on July 27 was highly focused in the area of the burial pit discovered the second time.

Based on valuable information from historical witnesses and traces from previous field surveys and explorations, functional forces have expanded the scope of excavation. The urgent and meticulous working process has successfully discovered, exhumed and repatriated 8 sets of martyrs' remains and some accompanying artifacts of heroic martyrs.

Currently, the total number of martyrs' remains found in the Le Thi Rieng Park area as of July 27, 2026 is 125 sets of martyrs' remains (including 2 collective sets that have been dissected and 3 collective sets that have not been dissected).

The search and repatriation of martyrs' remains at Le Thi Rieng Park is one of the key tasks, reflecting the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source" and the deep gratitude of the Party Committee, government, army and people of the City to those who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

In the coming time, the City Command will continue to direct forces to expand the search area, closely coordinate with specialized agencies, witnesses and related units to accelerate progress but ensure absolute accuracy.
