A section of highway in Dong Nai has no residential roads

A section of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway has no parallel residential road, causing difficulties for people's lives.

Dong Nai voters reported that currently, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway section through Phuoc An commune does not have residential roads or parallel roads, making travel difficult for people in the area.

Voters recommend that relevant agencies build residential roads and parallel roads to the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway for convenient travel for local people.

Responding to this issue, the Ministry of Transport said that in 2019, based on local opinions, VEC proposed to add a number of service roads in Phuoc An commune, Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province to package A6 of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway Construction Project (Project) using loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

However, ADB did not agree to add this item to the Project due to the need for additional site clearance and the remaining term of the loan agreement did not guarantee the completion of these items.

Up to now, to ensure the travel needs of people on both sides of the highway, VEC has proposed adding a service road to the Project using VEC's self-arranged capital.

Based on VEC's proposal, the Ministry of Transport has issued Document No. 9536/TTr-BGTVT dated August 30, 2024 to the Prime Minister for approval to adjust the investment policy of the Project.

After the adjusted investment policy (including the use of VEC's self-arranged capital for additional items) is approved by competent authorities, the Ministry of Transport will direct VEC to promptly complete related procedures, coordinate with localities to review and implement items to ensure people's travel in the area.
