One person died, one person went missing while swimming at the foot of Nho Que hydropower plant

Tuyen Quang - While swimming in the area at the foot of Nho Que 3 Hydropower Plant, victim M.M. C. drowned and died, V.T. S. is still missing and has not been found.

On May 16, according to information from Tuyen Quang Provincial Police, functional forces are still continuing to deploy the search for drowning victims on the Nho Que River.

Previously, at about 3:20 pm on May 15, functional agencies received a report about a drowning incident that occurred in the area at the foot of Nho Que 3 Hydropower Plant (Quan Xi village, Khau Vai commune).

Initial information, at about 12:00 PM on the same day, M.M. C. (born 2009), V.T. S. (born 2009) and M.T. D. (born 2011), all residing in Khau Vai commune, went down to the hydropower base area to bathe in the stream.

While bathing, M.T. D. unfortunately sank into the water. Discovering the incident, M.M. C. promptly rescued M.T. D. ashore.

However, immediately after that, V.T. S. continued to drown. M.M. C. continued to rush down to save his friend, but both were swept away by the water.

At about 5:30 pm on the same day, the police force of Khau Vai commune and people found and brought the body of M.M. C. ashore. V.T. S. is still missing.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police Team of Ha Giang area mobilized officers and soldiers along with specialized vehicles and equipment to deploy rescue and relief work.

Currently, functional forces are still continuing to deploy search plans for victim V.T. S.
