On May 17, Vung Tau Ward Police (HCMC) are coordinating with functional units to verify and clarify the cause of a man's death in the area.
At about 11:30 pm on May 16, people traveling through Ao Ca park area (Vung Tau ward, Ho Chi Minh City) discovered a man lying motionless next to a light pole, so they reported it to functional agencies.
The scene where the incident occurred is Ao Ca Park, about 44,000 m2 wide, located at the intersection of Vo Thi Sau and Phan Chu Trinh streets. Previously, it was a stagnant pond area, after being renovated into a park, it has attracted quite a lot of people and tourists to play.
Before the incident occurred, Vung Tau ward and neighboring localities experienced a very heavy early-season rain, lasting more than 1 hour, causing many roads to be locally flooded. After the incident occurred, some people said they had been electrocuted when touching this light pole.
Functional forces quickly arrived, taking the victim to the hospital for emergency treatment, but the victim died. Initial verification revealed that the victim was Mr. L.D. V (born in 1995, residing in Tri An ward, Dong Nai).
Currently, the cause of the incident is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies to resolve according to regulations.
