According to the pilot plan, from March 1, the city will ban cars with more than 16 seats (except buses and school buses) from circulating during peak hours in the morning from 6:30 to 8:30 and in the afternoon from 16:30 to 6:30.
The route applied includes the Hang Giay - Dong Xuan - Hang Duong - Hang Ngang - Hang Dao - Dinh Tien Hoang axis; the Hang Dau - Tran Nhat Duat - Nguyen Huu Huan axis in the Hanoi Old Quarter area and the streets of Ly Quoc Su, Nha Tho, Nha Chung, Quang Trung (from Trang Thi to Nha Chung), Au Trieu, Bao Khanh, Hang Trong, Hang Hanh alley.

To facilitate people's travel, Hanoi has arranged 6 transit points, located on the streets, including: Ba Trieu (from Hang Khay to Hai Ba Trung); Tran Nhat Duat (from Cao Thang to O Quan Chuong); Tran Quang Khai (from the front of the printing factory from Hang Mas to Hang Thung);
Tran Khanh Du (section in front of the historical museum); Dong Xuan market area; Phung Hung (orscape painting street section).
According to the actual records of the reporter at the transfer points, travel agencies comply quite seriously with the regulations and park at the correct points.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (character's name has been changed) - the driver of a passenger bus from Hanoi to Sa Pa, immediately after the new regulation was issued, his unit had 2 more vehicles with less than 16 seats to transit passengers.
"The bus is temporarily rented out because after the pilot period, it is not known if there will be any changes. Previously, it took about 30 minutes to pick up enough customers, now it takes more than 1 hour. There are inconveniences, but we will adapt and comply with the city's regulations," Mr. Hung shared.

Mr. Hung also reflected that currently, there are often cars stopping at transit points, making it difficult for travel agencies to enter and exit waiting for customers.
According to the reporter's records, at some times passenger cars have to stop outside the crossing of the transit point, which poses a potential risk of causing traffic jams and accidents.
In response to the above situation, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong newspaper, the commander of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 - Hanoi Traffic Police Department said that the unit will increase forces and patrol regularly to promptly detect violations, strictly handle cases of cars and motorbikes stopping and parking, occupying transit points, affecting traffic in the area.

After 5 days of applying the new regulations, the old streets became more airy during rush hour. People have more space to move, instead of having to squeeze through vehicles with more than 16 parking spaces waiting for guests at the foot of motels and hotels as before.
In the coming time, travel agencies hope that the city will have more transit points to make picking up and dropping off passengers more convenient, avoiding overload leading to traffic congestion.
