According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, from September 14-16, rain in the South tends to decrease, sunshine appears more, but still needs to be wary of thunderstorms.

The tropical convergence zone causing heavy rain tends to raise its axis to the North and weaken. Meanwhile, the subtropical high pressure, with its southern branch encroaching westward, is likely to dominate the weather in the South in the coming days.

Accordingly, in 3 days from September 14-16, rain in the South tends to gradually decrease. During the day, clouds decrease, sunshine appears more. The highest temperature is commonly 31-34 degrees Celsius, in some places above 34 degrees Celsius.

Rain mainly appears in the afternoon and evening, the scope tends to narrow, the number of heavy rain points decreases. The Southern region mainly has scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

Areas likely to have rain centers include the coast of the Mekong Delta, North Tay Ninh, Dong Nai and West Lam Dong. In thunderstorms, people need to be wary of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

It is noteworthy that from about September 17 onwards, heavy rain is likely to return in the South.

In terms of hydrology, the highest daily water level at most stations on the Saigon River will recede slowly in the first 1-2 days, then recede rapidly. The highest daily tide peak is above alarm level I to alarm level II, likely to be maintained until the end of September 16, 2026.

During this time, it is necessary to be wary of heavy rain combined with high tides causing flooding in low-lying areas and riverside areas, affecting traffic and socio-economic activities in Ho Chi Minh City.
