On August 25, according to statistics from the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms from August 22 to 24 occurred in Hanh Phuc, Den Sang, Phinh Ho, Tram Tau and Muong Khuong communes, affecting people's lives and many infrastructure projects.
In Phinh Ho, Tram Tau, Hanh Phuc and Den Sang communes, 5 houses were affected by landslides and roofs were blown off. Some areas experienced landslides on traffic routes, causing local congestion and affecting people's travel.

In agricultural production, nearly 41ha of bananas, corn and rice in Muong Khuong commune were damaged. Some aquaculture and livestock areas in other localities were also affected by heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The total value of damage to housing, agricultural production, animal husbandry, aquaculture and infrastructure is estimated at more than 5.6 billion VND.
Immediately after the damage occurred, local authorities mobilized local forces to urgently overcome the consequences, statistics of damage, clear the flow, repair houses and ensure traffic.

Localities also inspect and review households whose houses are affected by taluy landslides and roof blowouts; continue to fully statistically assess damage to production, forestry, animal husbandry, aquaculture and infrastructure to have appropriate support plans.
Faced with complicated weather developments, Lao Cai province requests localities to maintain duty shifts, closely monitor weather forecasts and warnings to promptly inform people.
Areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and flooding continue to be reviewed and warned. Police, military, militia, and shock forces, along with mass organizations and people, are mobilized, ready with response plans and evacuation plans for people when dangerous situations arise.
