Early this afternoon (September 21), the Hanoi area was suddenly sunny and suddenly had thunderstorms. Dark clouds cover the sky, making it dark.
Heavy rain poured down, making it difficult for vehicles to move.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, through monitoring on satellite images and weather radar images, convective clouds causing rain are active in Ba Vi district. This convective cloud area tends to continue to develop and expand to the East.
In the next 30 minutes to 3 hours, this convective cloud area will cause showers and thunderstorms in the districts of Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Ha Dong, Tay Ho, Cau Giay... then it is likely to spread to other inner-city districts of Hanoi. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
