The heavy rain lasting from morning to noon on September 19 caused many main roads in Dong Hoi ward, Quang Tri province to be deeply flooded, causing traffic jams in many places.
Roads such as Nguyen Huu Canh, Huu Nghi, To Huu, Hai Ba Trung... are deeply flooded from 0.2-0.5 m, making it difficult for vehicles to move. Many motorbikes and cars stalled.
Many small roads in Dong Hoi ward were also locally flooded due to heavy rain, and the drainage system could not drain water in time. In some areas, water flooded into people's houses. Faced with this situation, functional forces had to arrange people to be on duty at flooded "black spots" to clear sewers and ensure safety for people.
Dong Hoi Ward is a tourist area, located along the Nhat Le River. Although for many years, Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee has paid attention to investing in drainage projects, wastewater treatment, and drainage infrastructure in some areas that are still inadequate, causing limited drainage capacity and easy flooding after prolonged heavy rains.
