On July 22, information from the People's Committee of Ia Bang commune, Gia Lai province said that storms have affected many agricultural production areas in the area, especially the export banana of enterprises.
Accordingly, thousands of banana trees of Hung Son High-Tech Agricultural Company were broken due to strong gusts of wind, causing significant economic damage. This company currently grows South American banana varieties on an area of over 300 hectares in Ia Bang commune, while creating jobs for about 450-600 local workers.
This export banana variety has a large trunk and wide canopy, so it is easy to fall when encountering prolonged heavy rain and strong winds. Faced with the above situation, the company has planned to clean up the damaged area and use fallen trees as organic fertilizer.

In the past 3 years, many businesses have introduced South American banana varieties to Gia Lai, replacing plants such as Thai jackfruit, durian, avocado, etc. Thanks to the climate conditions of the plateau and fertile red basalt soil, this plant has quickly developed, covering many large areas of land with green.
Enterprises in Gia Lai are exporting thousands of tons of bananas each year to many international markets such as China, Japan, Korea, Europe, the US, Qatar, etc.
Mr. Vu Ngoc An - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province - said that the department is waiting for detailed reports on damage from localities to promptly direct and support affected people and businesses.
