On July 20 and 21, Tay Ninh province experienced heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and tornadoes, causing serious property damage. According to a quick report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province, by the morning of July 22, the whole province recorded one person injured and dozens of houses and many areas of crops damaged. The total initial damage is estimated at more than 411 million VND.
The injured person was Mr. N.V.B (born in 2014, residing in Thanh Ba hamlet, My Loc commune), who was hit by a fallen tree, causing injuries to his head and shoulders. His health has now stabilized after receiving timely emergency care. Local authorities have visited, encouraged and supported the family.
Thunderstorms and tornadoes completely collapsed 3 houses, blew off the roofs of 32 others and damaged a number of civil works such as office buildings, electricity poles, trees and advertising signs. Many roads were blocked by fallen trees, the power system was interrupted due to broken or tilted power poles. In particular, in Moc Hoa commune, about 130 hectares of rice in the harvest preparation stage fell, seriously affecting agricultural production.
The affected localities include My Loc, Vinh Hung, Dong Thanh, Binh Thanh, Duc Hue, Tuyen Thanh, Thanh Phuoc, Moc Hoa, Thuan My communes and Go Dau ward. The authorities of the communes quickly established working groups to inspect the scene, assess the extent of damage and support people to overcome the consequences and stabilize their housing.
The work to overcome the consequences is still being urgently deployed. The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province is coordinating with functional agencies and local authorities to continue to count the damage and propose solutions to support people to soon stabilize their lives.
