According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 11:15 am on March 16, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir recorded an upstream water level of 114.68m, about 5m lower than the normal water level of 120m.
The water flow to the reservoir reached about 50 m3/s, while the total discharge through the plant was at 121.52 m3/s, without operating spillway gates.
In the Northwest region, Lai Chau Lake has an upstream water level of 294.51m, close to the normal water level of 295m. The water flow to the lake reaches about 437 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant is about 539 m3/s.
Ban Chat Lake is currently at 442.42m, 30m lower than the normal water level of 475m. The water flow to the lake is at 18 m3/s, while the total discharge through the plant is about 259 m3/s.
At Huoi Quang reservoir, the upstream water level reached 368.94m, approaching the normal water level of 370m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 282 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant was about 265 m3/s.
Meanwhile, Son La reservoir recorded a water level of 214.67m, only about 0.33m lower than the normal water level of 215m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 822 m3/s, and the total discharge through the plant was about 283 m3/s.
At Hoa Binh reservoir, the upstream water level reached 114.66m, more than 2m lower than the normal water level of 117m. The water flow to the reservoir is about 954 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant is at 555 m3/s.
Thac Ba reservoir currently has a water level of 55.04m, nearly 3m lower than the normal water level of 58m. The water flow to the reservoir reaches about 73 m3/s, and has not yet been discharged through the spillway dam.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 16th, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered; especially the mountainous area has rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. Cold at night and in the morning.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places, sunny during the day.
