According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 10:00 AM on March 16, in the Northwest region, reservoirs on the Da River system maintained high water levels.
Lai Chau Lake reached 294.53 m, close to the normal water level of 295 m; water flow to the lake was 489 m3/s, total discharge was 284 m3/s through the plant.
Son La Lake is at 214.66 m, only about 0.34 m lower than the normal water level; total discharge volume 676 m3/s. Lake
Hoa Binh recorded a water level of 114.65 m, about 2.35 m lower than the normal water level, with a water inflow to the reservoir of 370 m3/s.
Some other reservoirs such as Huoi Quang reached 368.93 m, close to the normal water level of 370 m; Ban Chat reservoir at 442.48 m. These reservoirs do not discharge overflows, and the discharged water mainly flows through power generating units.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 114.69 m, 5 m lower than the normal water level; total discharge volume 121.41 m3/s.
Thac Ba Lake reached 55.04 m, about 3 m lower than the normal water level, total discharge volume 63.11 m3/s.
In the North Central region, Ban Ve Lake is currently at 193.35 m (nearly 7 m lower than the normal water level) and has not been discharged. Khe Bo Lake has a water level of 64.4 m, with a total discharge volume of 95.5 m3/s through the plant.
In the South Central Coast, Song Tranh 2 reservoir is close to reaching the normal water level at 174.99 m, of which the plant discharges 212.93 m3/s, including 14.93 m3/s through the spillway and 198 m3/s through the plant. Some other reservoirs such as Vinh Son A, Vinh Son B, Vinh Son C have low water flow to the reservoir.
In the Central Highlands region, hydropower reservoirs on the Se San and Srepok river systems are operating for power generation with quite large discharge flows. Ialy reservoir discharges 220 m3/s, Se San 4 reservoir discharges 380 m3/s, Se San 3A reservoir discharges 192 m3/s. Srepok 3 reservoir discharges 140.86 m3/s, of which 0.86 m3/s is through the spillway dam.
Meanwhile, in the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 61.58 m, close to the normal water level of 62 m, water inflow to the reservoir 120 m3/s and has not yet discharged water.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 16th, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered; especially the mountainous area has rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. Cold at night and in the morning.
