Most hydropower reservoirs across the country are lower than the normal water level, while Hoa Binh reservoir continues to maintain large discharge flows to operate the system.

According to reservoir operation data, at 1:00 PM on July 11, in the Northwest region, Hoa Binh reservoir had an upstream water level of 104.57m, 12.43m lower than the normal water level of 117m.

The water flow to the reservoir reached 4,938m3/s, while the total discharge flow was 4,422m3/s. Of which, the discharge flow through the spillway reached 1,561m3/s, through the plant 2,861m3/s. The reservoir is opening 1 deep discharge gate.

Also on the Da River system, Son La Lake has a water level of 196.4m, 18.6m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 4,378m3/s, the total discharge flow was 3,267m3/s, all through the plant.

Lai Chau Lake recorded a water level of 284.59m, 10.41m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake reached 1,785m3/s, total discharge flow 1,628m3/s.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 106.45m, 13.55m lower than the normal water level. The reservoir is discharging a total of 1,229.66m3/s, including 499m3/s through the spillway and 730.66m3/s through the plant, maintaining 1 deep discharge gate.

In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake has a water level of 158.74m, 1.26m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reaches 618m3/s, while the total discharge flow reaches 820m3/s, including 390m3/s through the spillway and 430m3/s through the plant. The lake is opening 3 surface discharge gates.

Meanwhile, Ban Ve reservoir has a water level of 170.16m, water flow to the reservoir 144m3/s and has not been discharged. Khe Bo reservoir discharges 214.8m3/s through the plant, while Quang Tri reservoir has not yet generated a discharge flow.

In the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands, most hydropower reservoirs still maintain water levels lower than normal water levels. Many reservoirs such as A Vuong, Song Bung 2, Song Tranh 2, Thuong Kon Tum, Pleikrông, Ialy, Se San 4, Dong Nai 3, Ham Thuan and Tri An do not discharge through spillways, mainly operating for power generation or water storage.
