Hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region updated on the afternoon of July 10 continued to be lower than the normal water level, Hoa Binh and Son La reservoirs recorded large inflows.

According to updated reservoir operation data at 2:00 PM on July 10, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has an upstream water level of 106.98 m, 13.02 m lower than the normal water level. Water flow to the reservoir reached 898 m3/s, total discharge flow 1,227.91 m3/s, of which discharge through spillway 505 m3/s and through the plant 722.91 m3/s. The reservoir is operating 1 deep discharge gate.

Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 51.99 m, 6.01 m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 642 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant reached 440.73 m3/s.

In the Northwest region, Hoa Binh reservoir has an upstream water level of 104 m, 13 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the reservoir reached 4,377 m3/s, total discharge flow 2,840 m3/s, all through the plant, without operating deep discharge gates and surface discharge gates.

Son La Lake has a water level of 196.26 m, 18.74 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake reached 4,082 m3/s, total discharge flow 2,593 m3/s.

Lai Chau Lake recorded a water level of 284.84 m, 10.16 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake reached 1,438 m3/s, total discharge through the plant reached 731 m3/s.

Ban Chat Lake has a water level of 459.01 m, 15.99 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake reached 383 m3/s, total discharge flow 52 m3/s.

Meanwhile, Huoi Quang reservoir has a water level of 369.61 m, only 0.39 m lower than the normal water level. Water flow to the reservoir reached 273 m3/s, total discharge flow 336 m3/s, all through the plant.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 10, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region and Quang Ninh will have moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain. The Northern Delta region will have showers and scattered thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.
