Hydropower reservoirs across the country updated on the afternoon of July 10 are generally still lower than the normal water level, many reservoirs in the Northwest region have large inflows.

According to updated data from the hydropower reservoir management and supervision system at 1:31 PM on July 10, most hydropower reservoirs across the country continue to have water levels lower than normal water levels, while water flow to many reservoirs in the Northern region is maintained at a high level.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has an upstream water level of 106.98 m, 13.02 m lower than the normal water level. The reservoir is operating 1 deep discharge gate, with a total discharge flow of 1,227.91 m3/s, of which discharge through the spillway is 505 m3/s and through the plant is 722.91 m3/s.

Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 51.99 m, 6.01 m lower than the normal water level, with a total discharge flow of 440.73 m3/s.

The Northwest region recorded water flow to reservoirs continuing to be at a high level. Hoa Binh Lake has a water flow of 4,377 m3/s, the water level reached 104 m, 13 m lower than the normal water level. The total discharge through the plant reached 2,840 m3/s, without operating deep discharge gates and surface discharge gates.

Son La Lake has a water inflow of 4,082 m3/s, the water level reaches 196.26 m, 18.74 m lower than the normal water level. Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 284.84 m, 10.16 m lower, the water inflow reaches 1,438 m3/s. Ban Chat Lake reaches 459.01 m, 15.99 m lower; Huoi Quang Lake reaches 369.61 m, only 0.39 m lower than the normal water level.

In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake has a water level of 159.78 m, 0.22 m lower than the normal water level and the inflow rate reaches 954 m3/s. Ban Ve Lake reached 169.9 m, 30.1 m lower; Khe Bo Lake reached 64.23 m, 0.77 m lower; Quang Tri Lake reached 460.15 m, 19.85 m lower.

In the South Central Coast, most reservoirs are still below the normal water level. A Vuong reservoir reached 355.52 m, Song Tranh 2 reservoir reached 154.74 m, Song Ba Ha reservoir reached 102.43 m, Song Hinh reservoir reached 202.25 m. Vinh Son A, Vinh Son B, Vinh Son C reservoirs are all lower than the normal water level by nearly 8 m to more than 9 m.

In the Central Highlands, many large reservoirs are still quite far from the normal water level, such as Thuong Kon Tum reaching 1,143.93 m, Pleikrông reaching 546.21 m, Ialy reaching 494.23 m, Se San 4 reaching 211.64 m, Buon Tua Srah reaching 470.06 m, Dong Nai 3 reaching 570.32 m, Ham Thuan reaching 579.77 m and Dai Ninh reaching 866.44 m.

Notably, some reservoirs are operating discharging through spillways, including An Khe with a flow rate of 4 m3/s and Buon Kuop with a flow rate of 15.22 m3/s. The remaining reservoirs mainly generate electricity through power plants or have not yet discharged water.

In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake has a water level of 51.82 m, 10.18 m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 380 m3/s, and the total discharge through the plant reached 265 m3/s.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 20, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region and Quang Ninh will have moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain.
