Large hydropower reservoirs across the country are lower than the normal water level, Hoa Binh Hydropower continues to operate 1 bottom discharge gate with a total discharge flow of more than 4,400 m3/s.

According to reservoir operation data, at 12:00 on July 14, in the Northwest area, Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir had an upstream water level of 104.23m, 12.77m lower than the normal water level (117m). Water flow to the reservoir reached 3,920 m3/s, total discharge flow 4,423 m3/s, of which 1,554 m3/s through the spillway and 2,869 m3/s through the plant. The reservoir is maintaining 1 deep discharge gate.

Son La Hydropower Lake recorded a water level of 196.4m, 18.6m lower than the normal water level. Water flow to the lake reached 3,042 m3/s, total discharge volume 3,262 m3/s through the plant.

Lai Chau, Ban Chat and Huoi Quang reservoirs also have lower water levels than normal water levels. In which, Lai Chau reached 282.95m, Ban Chat 460.3m and Huoi Quang 369.19m, while Huoi Quang is only about 0.81m lower than normal water levels.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 104.5m, 15.5m lower than the normal water level, with a total discharge flow of 734.25 m3/s.

In the North Central region, Trung Son reservoir has a water level of 153.44m, 6.56m lower than the normal water level and is operating 5 surface discharge gates, with a total discharge flow of 987 m3/s, of which 515 m3/s is through the spillway dam.

In the Central Highlands, Ialy Hydropower reservoir has a water level of 495.29m, 19.71m lower than the normal water level. Pleikrông reservoir reached 548.2m, and Sê San 3 reservoir reached 303.82m, both lower than the normal water level.

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 51.66m, 10.34m lower than the normal water level. The inflow to the reservoir reached 400 m3/s, while the total discharge flow reached 823 m3/s.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 13, the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night, intermittent sunshine during the day. The highest temperature is commonly around 32 - 35 degrees Celsius.

The North Central region has scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain (rain concentrated in the afternoon and night).

The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places, especially in the late afternoon and evening there are showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain.
