Hydropower reservoirs across the country are still lower than the normal water level, many power plants maintain power generation with large discharge flows to serve the needs of the power system.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:30 pm on April 16, in the Northern region, the reservoirs on the Da River system continued to operate strongly.

Hoa Binh Lake has a water flow of 433 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant is up to 1,526 m3/s - the largest discharge level in the country today. Son La Lake discharges electricity 174 m3/s, Tuyen Quang Lake generates electricity 254.38 m3/s.

Meanwhile, Lai Chau, Ban Chat, Huoi Quang and Thac Ba reservoirs are almost non-discharging, the water level is still below the normal level.

In the North Central region, Khe Bo reservoir generates electricity with a discharge flow of 191 m3/s, Trung Son reservoir discharges 86 m3/s. Ban Ve and Quang Tri reservoirs almost do not generate discharge.

The South Central Coast region recorded many reservoirs discharging electricity with small to medium flow rates such as Song Ba Ha discharging 120 m3/s, Song Bung 4 discharging 49 m3/s, A Vuong discharging 30 m3/s, Song Hinh discharging 26.64 m3/s. Most of the remaining reservoirs are almost non-discharging.

In the Central Highlands, the reservoirs on the Se San and Serepok river systems maintain power generation. Se San 4 and Se San 3 reservoirs both discharge 180 m3/s; Se San 3A discharges 77 m3/s. Some reservoirs open deep discharge gates such as Srepok 3 opening 2 deep discharge gates, Buon Kuop opening 1 deep discharge gate with small flow.

On the Dong Nai river system, two reservoirs Dong Nai 3 and Dong Nai 4 discharged 168.4 m3/s and 163.06 m3/s respectively; Tri An reservoir discharged 228 m3/s.

Many other reservoirs such as Dai Ninh, Don Duong, Ham Thuan, and Da Mi have not yet generated discharge.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for April 16, the area from Nghe An to Hue City has hot and intense heat, especially intense in some places with the highest temperature commonly 36 - 38 degrees C, in some places above 39 degrees C.

Da Nang City and the East of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak: Hot sun, in some places intense hot sun with the highest temperature commonly 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C.

The Northwest region, Thanh Hoa, Central Highlands and Southern regions have localized hot sun with the highest temperature in some places above 35 degrees Celsius. From the night of April 16, the Northern region (except Lai Chau, Dien Bien) and Thanh Hoa will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms.
