According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 7:00 AM on April 12, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake had an upstream water level of 113.59 m, water inflow to the lake of 113 m3/s, total discharge flow of 202.26 m3/s, all through the plant.
In the Northwest region, the water level of major reservoirs is lower than the normal water level.
Lai Chau Lake reached 288.9 m; Ban Chat 431.49 m; Huoi Quang 369.53 m; Son La 210.58 m. The lakes are operating to generate electricity, not overflowing.
For Hoa Binh reservoir alone, the upstream water level is at 114.19 m, lower than the normal water level by 2.81 m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 1,702 m3/s; total discharge flow of 1,135 m3/s, all through the plant, without opening discharge gates.
At Thac Ba Lake, the water level reached 53.01 m, the water inflow to the lake was 75 m3/s, and currently no discharge has occurred.
In the North Central region, Trung Son, Ban Ve, and Quang Tri reservoirs basically accumulate water slowly. Khe Bo Lake recorded a water inflow of 303.6 m3/s, with a total discharge of 232.1 m3/s through power generation.
In the South Central Coast, most reservoirs have low flow. Some currently generating power reservoirs such as A Vuong discharge 37 m3/s, Vinh Son A discharge 9.72 m3/s, Song Hinh discharge 53.28 m3/s through the plant.
In the Central Highlands region, many reservoirs maintain power generation with quite large flows. Ialy reservoir discharges 229 m3/s; Se San 3 discharges 470 m3/s; Se San 3A discharges 528 m3/s; Se San 4 discharges 465 m3/s. Some reservoirs discharge through spillways with small flows such as Srepok 3 spillway discharged 0.83 m3/s.
In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake has a water level of 59.29 m; water inflow of 190 m3/s and is discharging 114 m3/s through power generation.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for April 12, the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City from April 12-13, is forecast to have intense and especially intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 38-40 degrees C, with some places above 40 degrees C.
The Northwest region, Da Nang City and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will have hot and intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 36-38 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C.
