Water levels of hydropower reservoirs nationwide on March 18

The water level of hydropower reservoirs nationwide is maintained at a fairly good level, many reservoirs in the Northern mountainous region and the Central Highlands are approaching the normal water level.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 3:00 PM on March 18, in the Northwest and Northeast regions, large lakes on the Da River system continued to store water well.

Son La Lake reached 214.38m (approximately the normal water level of 215m), Lai Chau Lake reached 294.44m/295m, Hoa Binh Lake reached 115.02m/117m. The water flow to Son La and Hoa Binh Lakes is maintained at a high level, respectively 1. 194 m3/s and 1. 512 m3/s.

Tuyen Quang Lake reached 114.74m, about 5m below the normal water level.

Some reservoirs such as Huoi Quang, Ban Chat, Thac Ba also recorded relatively high water levels compared to regulations, but there is a difference between inflow and total discharge, showing that the reservoirs are mainly regulating for power generation.

In the North Central region, the water level of the reservoirs is basically stable. Trung Son Lake reached 158.98m/160m, with balanced inflow and discharge. Meanwhile, Ban Ve, Khe Bo and Quang Tri reservoirs have low inflow and almost no discharge at many times.

The South Central Coast region recorded that most reservoirs had low inflows. However, some reservoirs such as Song Tranh 2 have approached the normal water level (174.87m/175m). Song Bung 4 and A Vuong reservoirs still maintain discharge at a certain level even though the inflow is not large.

In the Central Highlands, many lakes are stocking water quite well. Thuong Kon Tum Lake reached 1.155.96m/1.160m and discharged through a spillway; Se San 4, Buon Kuop, and An Khe lakes maintain water discharge to serve the operation of the system.

Some other reservoirs such as Pleikrông, Ialy, Đồng Nai 3, Đồng Nai 4 have low inflow, almost no discharge.

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir reached 61.53m, approaching the normal water level of 62m. Total discharge volume (213 m3/s) is significantly higher than the inflow volume (80 m3/s), showing that the reservoir is regulating to serve downstream demand.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 18th, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered, sunny skies in the afternoon. Cold at night and in the morning.

The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places at night, sunny days, especially the East has hot sunny places.
