According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 11:30 am on April 18, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake had an upstream water level of 112.18m, 7.82m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 50 m3/s, the total discharge flow was 637.21 m3/s through the plant.
The Northwest region recorded that most reservoirs were lower than the normal water level. Son La Lake reached 208.57m (lower than 6.43m), inflow to the reservoir 102 m3/s, total discharge volume 2,024 m3/s.
Hoa Binh Lake is at 112.3m, lower than the normal water level by 4.7m; water flow to the lake is 820 m3/s and the total discharge through the plant is up to 2,464 m3/s - belonging to the group of lakes with the largest discharge flow in the system.
Thac Ba Lake reached 52.42m, total discharge 362.1 m3/s. Lai Chau, Ban Chat, and Huoi Quang reservoirs continue to maintain low water levels and have not generated discharge.
In the North Central region, Trung Son, Ban Ve, Khe Bo and Quang Tri reservoirs all have water levels lower than normal water levels by 1–13m. The discharge flow through the plant ranges from 18–341 m3/s, showing that power generation demand is still maintained stably.
In the South Central Coast region, most reservoirs have water levels lower than normal water levels by 2–10m. Song Tranh 2 reservoir discharges 89 m3/s, Ba Ha River discharges 127 m3/s, and Hinh River discharges equivalent to the flow to the reservoir (26.64 m3/s).
Some reservoirs such as Vinh Son B and Vinh Son C have almost not generated discharge.
In the Central Highlands, many reservoirs continue to generate electricity with large flows. Ialy reservoir discharges 359 m3/s; Se San 4 discharges 660 m3/s; Pleikrông discharges 232 m3/s. Reservoirs on the Srepok cascade such as Buon Kuop, Srepok 3 maintain discharge from 246 – 261 m3/s.
On the Dong Nai river system, Dong Nai 3 reservoir discharged 189.58 m3/s; Dong Nai 4 discharged 202.82 m3/s; Ham Thuan discharged 116.12 m3/s.
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 58.92m, inflow to the reservoir 190 m3/s and total discharge through the plant reaches 779 m3/s.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on April 18, in the Northwest region there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially in the late afternoon, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
The North Central region will have showers and thunderstorms in some places during the day.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions are sunny during the day, with hot sun in some places.
