According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:30 pm on April 16, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded an upstream water level at an elevation of 112.43m, 7.57m lower than the normal water level (120m).
The water flow to the reservoir reached 70 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant was 254.38 m3/s, and the deep and surface discharge gates have not yet been opened.
In the Northwest region, Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 289.04m, lower than the normal water level by 5.96m; water inflow to the lake reached 365 m3/s, no water discharge has been generated.
Ban Chat Lake recorded a water level of 431.61m, slightly higher than the dead water level, the inflow to the lake is 12 m3/s and has not been discharged.
Huo Huoi Quang Lake has a water level of 369.62m, only 0.38m lower than the normal water level; water inflow to the lake is at 5 m3/s and has not been discharged.
Son La Lake reached an elevation of 209.18m, nearly 6m lower than the normal water level; inflow to the lake 94 m3/s, total discharge through the plant 174 m3/s.
Notably, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded the highest water flow to the reservoir in the area with 433 m3/s. The upstream water level reached 112.76m, 4.24m lower than the normal water level; the total discharge through the plant was at 1,526 m3/s.
Meanwhile, Thac Ba reservoir has a water level of 52.63m, lower than the normal water level by 5.37m; water inflow to the reservoir reached 121 m3/s and has not been discharged.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for April 16, the area from Nghe An to Hue City has hot and intense heat, especially intense in some places with the highest temperature commonly 36 - 38 degrees C, in some places above 39 degrees C.
Da Nang City and the East of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak: Hot sun, in some places intense hot sun with the highest temperature commonly 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C.
The Northwest region, Thanh Hoa, Central Highlands and Southern regions have localized hot sun with the highest temperature in some places above 35 degrees Celsius.
