According to updated data at 2:00 PM on August 20, the water level at many hydropower reservoirs across the country is still lower than the normal water level. Meanwhile, the water flow to some reservoirs is quite large, causing the discharge volume to be maintained at a high level.
In the Northern region, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded an upstream water level of 104.01 m, 117 m lower than the normal water level. Water flowing to the reservoir reached 2,873 m3/s, while the total discharge amount reached 4,396 m3/s. Of which, 1,548 m3/s through the spillway and 2,848 m3/s through the plant; 1 deep discharge gate is being opened.
Son La Lake is at an altitude of 196.54 m, while the normal water level is 215 m. Inflow to the lake reached 2,477 m3/s, total discharge volume 2,369 m3/s.
In Lai Chau, the water level reached 293.97 m, only 1.03 m lower than the normal water level. Water flowing to the reservoir is 1,287 m3/s, total discharge volume is 1,492 m3/s.
Tuyen Quang Lake is at 102.69 m, 17.31 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake is 620 m3/s, total discharge is 763.53 m3/s. Thac Ba Lake reaches 54.22 m, 3.78 m lower than the normal water level; inflow is 430 m3/s and discharge is 455.05 m3/s.
In the North Central region, Khe Bo reservoir is a noteworthy case when the water level reaches the normal water level, 65 m. The inflow and total discharge volume are both at 1.468.1 m3/s. Of which, 980.4 m3/s through the spillway and 487.7 m3/s through the plant; 8 surface discharge gates are operating.
Ban Ve Lake is at 189.04 m, lower than the normal water level by 10.96 m. The flow is 507 m3/s, total discharge is 342 m3/s.
In the South Central Coast, the reservoirs are mainly below the normal water level. A Vuong is at 347.37 m, 32.63 m lower; Song Bung 2 reaches 576.65 m, 28.35 m lower; Song Tranh 2 reaches 146.55 m, 28.45 m lower than the corresponding thresholds.
Song Bung 4 reservoir is at 207.95 m, 14.55 m lower than the normal water level. Water flows to the reservoir 18 m3/s, total discharge volume 50 m3/s.
In the Central Highlands, Ialy reservoir reached 502.8 m, 12.2 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the reservoir 514 m3/s, total discharge volume 128 m3/s.
Pleikrông is at 554.46 m, 15.54 m lower than the normal water level. Water inflow to the reservoir reached 800 m3/s, total discharge volume 71 m3/s.
Se San 4 reached 214.01 m, only 0.99 m lower than the normal water level. Water flows to the reservoir 686 m3/s, total discharge volume 245 m3/s.
Some other lakes are also at low levels, such as Thuong Kon Tum 1. 144.32 m compared to the normal level of 1. 160 m; Dong Nai 3 reaching 572.19 m compared to 590 m; Ham Thuan 589.95 m compared to 605 m.
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 54.6 m, 7.4 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow reaches 1,080 m3/s, total discharge volume 820 m3/s.
Thac Mo Lake reached 206.1 m, 11.9 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake 212.38 m3/s, total discharge 183 m3/s.
