According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 9:00 AM on March 23, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded an upstream water level of 115.01m, lower than the normal water level of 120m, currently no discharge flow has occurred.
In the Northwest region, large reservoirs such as Son La and Hoa Binh maintain high water levels.
Son La Lake reached 213.98m (near the normal water level of 215m), total discharge flow of 738 m3/s. Hoa Binh Lake is at 115.92m, discharging 365 m3/s.
Ho Huoi Quang and Ban Chat are also operating electricity generation with discharge flows of 198 m3/s and 246 m3/s respectively.
Notably, Lai Chau Lake reached 294.05m, approaching the normal water level of 295m but has not been discharged. Thac Ba Lake maintains a water level of 54.33m, with a total discharge flow of 465.48 m3/s.
In the North Central region, most reservoirs such as Trung Son, Ban Ve, Quang Tri have not discharged water. Khe Bo reservoir alone recorded a total discharge flow of 95.5 m3/s.
In the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions, hydropower reservoirs are basically operating stably, with inflow and discharge flow at low to medium levels. Some reservoirs generate electricity such as Se San 4 (480 m3/s), Ialy (166 m3/s), Se San 3A (250 m3/s).
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir maintains a water level of 61.18m, with a total discharge flow of 328 m3/s, serving power generation and downstream regulation.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 23rd, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early tomorrow morning there will be fog in some places, sunny skies in the afternoon; especially the mountainous area tonight will have rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places; sunny during the day, especially the East has hot sunny places.
