According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:00 on March 27, in the Northwest region, large reservoirs in the Da River basin recorded increased water inflow to the reservoirs but still at an average level.
Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir reached an elevation of 116 m, 1 m lower than the normal water level; water inflow to the reservoir reached 992 m3/s, total discharge through power generation 415 m3/s.
Son La Lake is at 214.01 m, lower than the normal water level by 0.99 m; inflow to the lake is 460 m3/s, total discharge is 428 m3/s. Lai Chau Lake reached 292.78 m, lower than the normal water level by 2.22 m, total discharge is 455 m3/s.
Meanwhile, Huoi Quang Lake is at 368.11 m (1.89 m lower) and Ban Chat Lake reaches 434.48 m, 40 m lower than the normal water level.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 115 m, 5 m lower than the normal water level; the total discharge flow through power generation reaches about 121 m3/s.
Thac Ba Lake is at an altitude of 53.8 m, 4.2 m lower than the normal water level and has not generated water discharge.
In the North Central region, Trung Son, Ban Ve and Khe Bo reservoirs continue to operate power generation with total discharge flows of 80 m3/s, 332 m3/s and 95.5 m3/s respectively.
The water level of all lakes is lower than the normal water level from nearly 1 m to more than 7 m.
The South Central Coast, Central Highlands and Southeast regions did not record reservoirs having to discharge floodwater.
Some lakes maintain electricity generation with notable discharges such as Ialy discharging 396 m³/s, Se San 3A discharging 281 m³/s, Se San 4 discharging 187 m³/s and Tri An discharging 216 m³/s.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 26th is that the Northern region will have light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered, sunny skies in the afternoon, and hot sun in some places. The highest temperature is commonly 27 - 31 degrees Celsius, especially in the Northwest region 31-34 degrees Celsius, in some places above 35 degrees Celsius.
