According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:00 on March 24, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded an upstream water level of 115.04m, lower than the normal water level by 4.96m.
The water flow to the reservoir reached 126 m3/s, while the total discharge flow reached 244.49 m3/s, mainly through the plant.
In the Northwest region, large reservoirs such as Lai Chau, Son La and Hoa Binh all maintain water levels approaching normal water levels.
Lai Chau Lake reached 294.13m (near level 295m), Son La Lake reached 213.89m (normal tide level 215m).
Notably, Hoa Binh reservoir has the largest discharge flow in the area with 635 m3/s, much higher than the water flow to the reservoir (77 m3/s).
Some other reservoirs such as Ban Chat and Huoi Quang also recorded quite high discharge flows, 242 m3/s and 102 m3/s respectively, serving power generation.
In the North Central region, Trung Son and Khe Bo reservoirs maintain water discharge at an average level, while Ban Ve and Quang Tri reservoirs are almost non-discharged. The water level of the reservoirs is both lower than the normal water level by 2–10m.
The South Central Coast region recorded that most reservoirs had water levels approaching the maximum threshold. Song Ba Ha reservoir discharged 120 m3/s, Song Hinh reservoir discharged 53.28 m3/s.
Some reservoirs such as Song Tranh 2 and Song Bung 2 did not generate discharge.
In the Central Highlands, many reservoirs have large inflows such as Ialy (245 m3/s), Se San 3 (312 m3/s), Se San 4 (447 m3/s). These reservoirs also maintain high water discharge for power generation, of which Se San 3A discharges up to 553 m3/s.
Some reservoirs such as Buon Kuop and Pleiku also recorded significant water discharge.
In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake has a water level of 61.06m, about 1m lower than the normal water level, and has not yet discharged water even though the inflow to the lake reaches 160 m3/s.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 24th, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered, sunny skies in the afternoon. The highest temperature is commonly around 27 - 30 degrees C.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places; sunny during the day, especially the East has hot sunny places.
