According to the forecast bulletin, short-term hydrographic warning issued by the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on the morning of August 4, water levels on rivers in the Northern, North Central, South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions mainly fluctuate according to reservoir regulation and the influence of tides.
In the Red River basin, the water level on the Thao River at Yen Bai and Phu Tho stations is changing slowly, and is forecast to continue to rise in the near future. On the Lo River, the water level at Tuyen Quang and Vu Quang stations is rising; Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir still maintains opening 1 bottom discharge gate, causing the downstream water level to continue to increase.
The flow to Hoa Binh reservoir on the Da River continues to fluctuate according to the regulation of the above-line hydropower reservoirs.
At 7:00 AM on August 4th, the water level of the Red River at Hanoi station reached 3.80 m and is forecast to continue to change slowly.
In the Northeast region, the Cau, Thuong, Luc Nam and Thai Binh rivers continue to be affected by tides. In the next 36 hours, the water level at Pha Lai station on the Thai Binh River is forecast to be highest at 1.45 m, lowest at 1.10 m.
In the North Central region, the water level upstream of the Ma River fluctuates, the midstream is affected by reservoir regulation, the downstream at Giang station fluctuates according to the tide. On the Ca River, the water level upstream changes slowly, the midstream fluctuates according to reservoir regulation. The Ngan Sau, Ngan Pho, Gianh and Huong rivers mainly change slowly or fluctuate slightly.
In the South Central Coast, water levels on the Vu Gia - Thu Bon and Tra Khuc rivers continue to change slowly. The Kon River fluctuates slightly according to the operation of irrigation works, while the downstream of the Ba River continues to be affected by hydropower and tidal regulation.
In the Southeast and Central Highlands regions, water levels on the Dong Nai, Be, Dak Bla and Krong Ana rivers continue to fluctuate according to the regulation of hydropower reservoirs; Krong Ana river has a downward trend. The headwaters of the Mekong River fluctuate according to the tide with a downward trend in the coming days.
According to actual measurements at 7:00 AM on August 4th, water levels at some stations include: Yen Bai on the Thao River 27.20 m; Phu Tho 13.18 m; Tuyen Quang on the Lo River 17.53 m; Vu Quang 9.68 m; Hanoi on the Red River 3.80 m; Thanh Hoa on the Kon River 6.86 m; Ta Lai on the Dong Nai River 111.41 m; Phuoc Hoa on the Be River 19.40 m; Kim Long on the Huong River 0.50 m.
