According to updates from Vietnam Electricity Group, as of 9:00 AM on February 2, 2026, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded upstream water level at an elevation of 111.7m; water inflow to the reservoir reached 556m3/s; total discharge through the plant is 2,185m3/s.
At Tuyen Quang reservoir, by 9:00 AM on February 2nd, the upstream water level reached 113.8m; water inflow to the reservoir reached 248m3/s; total discharge volume 622.52m3/s.
Implementing the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Red River basin, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant has closed the bottom discharge gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant, currently only maintaining power generation through generating units.
As of 9 am on February 2nd, Son La reservoir recorded upstream water level reaching 214.52m; water inflow to the reservoir 1,014m3/s; total discharge volume reached 968m3/s. Currently, the unit has closed all bottom discharge gates, only maintaining power generation through generating units to regulate downstream flow.
A similar situation occurred at Lai Chau reservoir, where the upstream water level reached 294.53m; water inflow to the reservoir reached 482m3/s; total discharge volume 685m3/s. Currently, Lai Chau Hydropower Plant has also closed all surface discharge gates, only operating power generation through generating units.
At Thac Ba Lake, as of 9:00 AM on February 2nd, the upstream water level reached 55.64m; the inflow to the lake was only 77m3/s; total discharge volume was 445.07m3/s; no overflow discharge.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, February 2nd, due to the impact of cold air, the Northern region will be cold, and the mountainous areas will be very cold in some places.
The area from Quang Tri to Da Nang city and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Gia Lai will have rain, showers, locally moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms.
