According to updates from Vietnam Electricity Group, as of 8:00 AM on February 3, 2026, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded an upstream water level at an elevation of 111.56m; water inflow to the reservoir reached 40m3/s; total discharge through the plant is 864m3/s.
At Tuyen Quang reservoir, by 9:00 am on February 3, the upstream water level reached 113.7m; water inflow to the reservoir reached 85m3/s; total discharge volume 409.76m3/s.
Implementing the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Red River basin, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant has closed the bottom discharge gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant, currently only maintaining power generation through generating units.
As of 9 am on February 3, Son La reservoir recorded upstream water level reaching 214.69m; water flow to the reservoir 382m3/s; total discharge volume reached 250m3/s. Currently, the unit has closed all bottom discharge gates, only maintaining power generation through generating units to regulate downstream flow.
A similar situation occurred at Lai Chau Lake, where the upstream water level reached 294.65m; water inflow to the lake reached 419m3/s; total discharge volume 827m3/s. Currently, Lai Chau Hydropower Plant has also closed all surface discharge gates, only operating power generation through generating units.
At Thac Ba Lake, as of 9:00 AM on February 3rd, the upstream water level reached 55.51m; the inflow to the lake was only 88m3/s; total discharge volume was 447.96m3/s; no overflow discharge.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, February 3rd, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered. Cold weather, mountainous areas have places with deep cold.
