According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 9:00 AM on May 12, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake had a water level of 110.51 m, nearly 10 m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 195 m3/s, the total discharge flow was 261.15 m3/s, all through the plant.
On the Da River system, large reservoirs are operating to generate electricity with high flow rates.
Lai Chau Lake is close to reaching the normal water level (294.32/295 m), with a water inflow of 896 m3/s and discharge of 1,511 m3/s. Son La Lake reached an elevation of 204.49 m, with a water inflow of 2,063 m3/s, and a total discharge of 1,507 m3/s.
Hoa Binh Lake is at 106.58 m, with a flow rate of 1,253 m3/s and discharge of 1,766 m3/s - the largest discharge level in the area.
Meanwhile, Thac Ba reservoir has a water level of 51.51 m, flow rate of 97 m3/s and discharge rate of 232.44 m3/s. Both Ban Chat and Huoi Quang reservoirs have low flow rates and have not yet generated discharge.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 12, the Northern region will have showers and thunderstorms in some places, especially the northern mountainous region tonight will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. Sunny day, showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening tomorrow, locally heavy rain.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places; hot sunny days, the East has places with intense heat.
