According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 3:30 pm on May 10, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake had an upstream water level of 110.45 m, quite far lower than the normal water level of 120 m. The water flow to the lake reached 50 m3/s, no discharge has occurred.
The Northwest region continues to be the focus of water flow and electricity generation.
Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 294.92 m, approaching the normal water level, the inflow to the lake reaches 591 m3/s; the power plant with a discharge rate of 281 m3/s. Son La Lake recorded a flow rate of 378 m3/s and a discharge rate of 834 m3/s.
Notably, Hoa Binh reservoir continues to lead the system with a water inflow to the reservoir of 1,097 m3/s and a total discharge output of 1,090 m3/s.
Some other reservoirs in the area are still mainly stocking water such as Ban Chat (flow inflow 113 m3/s), Huoi Quang (17 m3/s) and Thac Ba (151 m3/s) but have not generated discharge.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 10, the Northwest region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy to very heavy rain.
The Northeast region has scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain, especially the delta region has showers and thunderstorms in a few places.
The meteorological agency warns of the risk of extreme phenomena such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places; sunny during the day, hot in some places, especially the East has hot sun.
