Hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region have lower water levels than normal water levels, but the water flow to many reservoirs is at a high level.

According to updated data at 11:10 am on August 19, Hoa Binh Lake has an upstream water level of 104.50 m, lower than the normal water level by 117 m and 80 m higher than the dead water level. The water flow to the lake reached 3,894 m3/s.

The total discharge volume of Hoa Binh reservoir is at 4,398 m3/s, including 1,557 m3/s through the spillway and 2,841 m3/s through the plant. The reservoir is opening 1 deep discharge gate.

Son La Lake has a water level of 196.63 m, lower than the normal water level by 215 m. The inflow reached 2,789 m3/s, while the total discharge amount reached 3,277 m3/s, all through the plant.

Lai Chau Lake is at an altitude of 294.29 m, only 0.71 m lower than the normal water level of 295 m. Water flow to the lake reaches 1,674 m3/s. Total discharge volume is 1,572 m3/s, of which 94 m3/s through the spillway and 1,478 m3/s through the plant.

Ban Chat Lake has a water level of 470.57 m, 475 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow reached 207 m3/s, total discharge 243 m3/s.

At Huoi Quang reservoir, the water level reached 369.24 m, lower than the normal water level by 370 m. The inflow of water is 332 m3/s, the total discharge is 338 m3/s.

Tuyen Quang Lake has a water level of 103 m, 17 m lower than the normal water level of 120 m. Water flow to the lake reached 615 m3/s, total discharge volume 758.02 m3/s.

Thac Ba Lake reached 54.19 m, lower than the normal water level by 58 m. Inflow of water 422 m3/s, total discharge 456.87 m3/s.
