Water levels of hydropower reservoirs nationwide on August 1st

Hydropower reservoirs across the country operate stably, lower than the normal water level, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded the largest inflow.

According to updated data at 12:00 on August 1st, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has an upstream water level of 106.97 m, lower than the normal water level by 13.03 m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 898 m3/s, total discharge flow 1,228.45 m3/s, of which 505 m3/s through the spillway and 723.45 m3/s through the plant; the reservoir is opening 1 deep discharge gate.

In the Northwest region, the reservoirs on the Da River system continue to operate stably. Hoa Binh Lake has the largest inflow in the country with 3,837 m3/s, the water level reaches 100.33 m, total discharge flow of 2,948 m3/s, all through the plant. Son La Lake has a water level of 197.89 m, inflow of 2,698 m3/s, total discharge flow of 3,254 m3/s.

Lai Chau Lake reached 288.85 m, inflow and discharge both 1,548 m3/s. Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 52.72 m, inflow 462 m3/s, discharge 448.95 m3/s. Ban Chat Lake reached 470.74 m, inflow 222 m3/s, discharge 242 m3/s; Huoi Quang Lake has a water level of 368.70 m, inflow 313 m3/s, discharge 342 m3/s.

In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake has a water level of 151.71 m, flow rate of 389 m3/s, discharge rate of 475 m3/s. Ban Ve Lake reached 176.61 m, flow rate of 252 m3/s, not yet discharged. Khe Bo Lake is at 64.05 m, only about 1.05 m higher than the dead water level, flow rate of 474.9 m3/s, discharge rate of 213 m3/s. Quang Tri Lake has a water level of 457.85 m, flow rate to the lake is only 8 m3/s, not yet discharged.

In the South Central Coast, water inflow to reservoirs is generally low. A Vuong Lake reached 353.98 m, inflow 59.91 m3/s, discharge 28 m3/s. Song Bung 4 Lake has a water level of 209.16 m, inflow and discharge are both 49 m3/s.

Song Tranh 2 reservoir reached 150.92 m, inflow 16.04 m3/s, discharge 10.3 m3/s. Song Bung 2, Vinh Son A, Vinh Son B, Vinh Son C and Song Ba Ha reservoirs all had low inflows, have not been discharged or only discharged with small flows.

In the Central Highlands, Ialy Lake has a water level of 498.26 m, flow rate of 114 m3/s, discharge of 180 m3/s. Se San 4 Lake discharges 516 m3/s, much higher than the flow rate to the lake (75 m3/s). Buon Kuop Lake has a flow rate of 222 m3/s, total discharge flow rate of 231.99 m3/s, of which 14.99 m3/s through the spillway dam and 217 m3/s through the plant, maintaining 1 deep discharge gate. An Khe Lake discharges 30 m3/s through the spillway dam and opens 1 surface discharge gate.

Upper Kon Tum, Pleikrong, Srepok 3, Dong Nai 3, Dong Nai 4, Don Duong, Dai Ninh, Ham Thuan and Da Mi lakes are all operating stably, with no major discharges yet.

In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake has a water level of 53.03 m, a flow rate of 820 m3/s, discharging 665 m3/s through the plant. Thac Mo Lake reached 202.65 m, a flow rate of 151.02 m3/s, and a total discharge rate of 183 m3/s.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on August 1st, the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.

The Central Highlands and Southern regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places at night, showers and thunderstorms in some places during the day.
