According to Mr. Le Dinh Quyet - Head of Forecast Department of Southern Hydrometeorological Station, on the night of February 12, the South suffered an unusually heavy unseasonal rain when many places recorded rainfall of over 100 mm. Accordingly, Long Thanh (Dong Nai) was 126.6 mm, Nha Be (HCMC) was 124.4 mm.
As of the morning of February 13, Ho Chi Minh City recorded the highest amount of unseasonal rainfall in the past 20 years (2005 - 2025).
Localized showers and thunderstorms will continue for the next 2-3 days. Some places will experience rain lasting for several tens of minutes in the late afternoon or late at night. Total rainfall in February this year is forecast to be higher than the average of many years.
