On March 3, An Cuu Ward Police (Hue City) said that the unit had just received and supported Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (born in 2003, residing in An Cuu Ward, Thuan Hoa District) to complete the procedures to return 219 million VND due to someone else transferring money to his account by mistake.
Previously, on February 26, Mr. Hung's family announced that a person named Phan Xuan Tung (residing in Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh) had mistakenly transferred a large sum of money to his account. Because he did not register for the balance change notification service, Mr. Hung did not know about this transaction.
After checking his account, Mr. Hung discovered that the amount of 219 million VND had been transferred since February 22. Realizing that this was a confusing transaction and at the same time worried about the risk of fraud, on February 27, Mr. Hung proactively went to An Cuu Ward Police to report the incident.
After receiving the information, the police force instructed Mr. Hung with the necessary procedures to return the money to the person who transferred it by mistake.
