On May 27, informing Lao Dong, Lieutenant Colonel Le Xuan Thuong - Head of Highway Traffic Police Team No. 5 (Room 6, Traffic Police Department) - said that the unit issued a warning about the risk of tire blowouts and technical incidents on the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh - Van Phong expressway, due to the impact of hot weather.
In recent days, the Central region has experienced intense heat, high road surface temperatures have increased, increasing the risk of traffic unsafety on the expressway.

The road surface has high friction combined with high temperature, causing tire pressure to increase rapidly, easily leading to tire blowouts, loss of control and traffic accidents.
High temperatures also make engines, braking systems and technical parts of vehicles prone to problems during traffic.
According to Highway Traffic Police Team No. 5, in the past 3 days, more than 20 cases of vehicles having tires burst and engines damaged have been recorded on this highway.
To ensure traffic safety, functional forces recommend transport units, vehicle owners and drivers to regularly check the technical condition of vehicles, especially tires such as wear, pressure, signs of cracking, bulging or expired.
Traffic police recommend not to use poor quality or degraded tires; proactively replace damaged tires before traveling on the expressway.
In addition, drivers need to check coolant water and engine oil before moving, maintain a safe distance when traveling. When detecting unusual signs of tires or engines, it is necessary to quickly put the vehicle in a safe position for inspection and handling.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Xuan Thuong - Head of Highway Traffic Police Team No. 5 - said that in the coming time, the unit will strengthen patrols, inspections and strictly handle cases of vehicles not ensuring technical safety conditions as prescribed to prevent risks and ensure safety for traffic participants.
