Notably, the whole region recorded record high temperatures in this period.
In the Northeast and midland areas, many measuring stations have recorded particularly intense temperatures. Specifically, Huu Lung station (Lang Son) was hot at 39.4 degrees C; Tuyen Quang 39.3 degrees C. The peak was the Phu Tho area, Vinh Yen measuring station recorded temperatures up to 40.8 degrees C, other areas in the province commonly 37-39 degrees C.
On May 26, Son La Provincial Hydrometeorological Station said that the hottest area is concentrated in Muong La, Phu Yen and Yen Chau with a level of 36-38 degrees Celsius, humidity dropped sharply to only 40-45%.
The areas of Quynh Nhai, Thuan Chau, Song Ma, Sop Cop fluctuate from 35-37 degrees C. The hot weather lasts from 11 am to 4 pm.
In Lao Cai, widespread heat, low-lying areas including Lao Cai, Bat Xat, Van Ban, Bao Yen, Bao Thang with temperatures of 36-38 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C. The hottest hours of the day are concentrated from 1 pm to 4 pm.
In Cao Bang, the temperature of 36-38 degrees Celsius will continue to be maintained on May 26 and 27.
However, it is forecast that from the evening of May 27, this area will start to have scattered showers and thunderstorms.

From 10 am, the scorching heat rising from the asphalt road surface caused the central streets and national highways passing through Phu Yen and Yen Chau areas to be sparsely populated.

In agricultural areas, harsh weather changes people's living and working habits.
Many farmers have to take advantage of going to the fields from 4-5 am and finishing work before 9 am to avoid the harsh sunny hours.
In the afternoon, farm work usually only starts after 4:30 pm.
Cooling equipment such as air conditioners and water fans at electronics stores in the area also recorded a sudden increase in purchasing power.
The meteorological agency predicts that the intensity of hot sun in the northern mountainous provinces will remain at a high level until the end of May 27, then tend to gradually ease from May 28 and is likely to end on May 29.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a level 1 disaster risk warning due to hot weather.
For the characteristics of mountainous areas, hot weather combined with low air humidity (40-55%) increases the very high risk of forest fires, as well as fires and explosions in residential areas due to a sharp increase in electricity demand.
In addition, prolonged high temperatures directly threaten the growth of crops and livestock.
Local authorities recommend that people in mountainous areas limit farming and working outdoors during peak hours to prevent dehydration, exhaustion and heatstroke.
