In recent days, many localities across the country have recorded high outdoor temperatures. Under the impact of intense heat, the road surface temperature can increase very much, directly affecting the technical condition of vehicles, especially the tire system.
According to the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security, when vehicles operate on highways at high speeds for a long time, continuous friction between tires and the road surface will increase the temperature inside the tires. If the tires have deteriorated, the pressure does not meet standards or the vehicle is overloaded, the risk of tire blowouts will be higher than normal.

Tire blowouts when vehicles are traveling at high speed can cause vehicles to suddenly lose control, causing danger to drivers and surrounding vehicles. This is one of the causes of many serious traffic accidents on highways.
At noon on May 25, a case of a tire bursting occurred on the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway while traveling," the Traffic Police Department informed.
To limit risks, the Traffic Police Department has issued recommendations. Accordingly, vehicle drivers need to regularly check the tire condition and pay attention to warning signs such as tire wear, cracks or blisters; tire pressure not in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations; vehicles shaking or having displacement when moving; appearing unusual noise emitted from tires.
In addition, vehicles that regularly carry heavy loads or maintain high speeds for a long time also need to be checked more carefully before each journey, especially in hot weather conditions.
People need to check tires before each trip, including wear, pressure, signs of cracks, bumps or foreign objects on the tire surface. Preparing spare tires and necessary support tools is also very important in case of incidents.
Drivers need to pump tires at the recommended pressure, do not pump too much or too little. At the same time, comply with the allowed speed, avoid overloading because these are factors that increase pressure on the tires.
In addition, keeping a safe distance from the car in front, limiting sudden braking, sudden steering and proactively resting after each 2-3 hours of continuous driving also contributes to reducing the risk of incidents.
In case of unfortunate tire blowouts while traveling, vehicle drivers need to remain calm, use both hands to firmly hold the steering wheel, slowly release the accelerator pedal and absolutely do not brake suddenly.
Then, slow down gradually, drive the car into the emergency lane or safe side of the road. Drivers need to turn on the hazard warning lights, place warning signs according to regulations and contact functional forces or rescue units for support.
According to the Traffic Police Department, just one operation of checking tires before departure can help prevent many unsafe risks on the road. In the current hot weather conditions, paying attention to tire conditions not only protects vehicles but also ensures safety for the driver, passengers and other traffic participants.
