Ms. Truong Thi Thanh Huong, living in Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi, said that her family has 4 members. The family has planned to go to Da Nang for more than half a year. Present on the unified train, she and her children felt very happy and moved to see the peaceful and unified country.
This is also the common feeling of many people taking the train to agree on the evening of April 29, 2025. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luan, a veteran in Hanoi, happily said that exactly 50 years ago, he followed the liberation army to the South. Therefore, being on today's train is very proud and happy to see many families able to go to the South on a unified, safe and happy train.
Shortening half of the time to the South
Responding to Lao Dong newspaper, Mr. Hoang Gia Khanh - General Director of Vietnam Railway said that compared to 50 years ago, the unified train from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City was shortened to only 32 hours instead of more than 70 hours as before. This is an tireless effort of the railway industry. That journey will be shortened in the coming time.
Mr. Cao Hung Nam, Head of SE1 Passenger quite, shared: "This is a special event. I and all the staff in the group told myself that today we will try our best, on behalf of the railway industry, to convey all our enthusiasm and sincerity to the passengers".
A representative of the Railway Corporation said that with the desire to spread national pride, solidarity, creativity and innovation of the country and of Vietnamese enterprises, on the occasion of the 30.4/4.5 Festival this year, Vietnam Railway Corporation organized a pair of trains named "Thong Nhat train fleet".
Accordingly, the "Thong Nhat Railway Company" includes 1 train (SE1) departs from Hanoi Railway Station at 8:55 p.m. on April 29 to Saigon Railway Station at 6:50 a.m. on May 1, 2025 and 1 train (SE4) departs from Saigon Railway Station at 7:00 p.m. on April 29, to Hanoi Railway Station at 5:40 a.m. on May 1, 2025. The two trains are expected to meet at Da Nang Station at 12:30 on April 30, 2025, on the same day as the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
In addition to decorating with the theme " unified Railway - Non River, One Strip" at the stations, train passengers will be able to live in the atmosphere of the festival with art programs such as revolutionary songs, praising the homeland and country performed by the Railway Shock Art Team.
In particular, passengers on the "Thong Nhat Railway Company" will enjoy music directly on the train from Hue Station to Da Nang (for SE1) and from Tam Ky - Da Nang (for SE4 train); welcomed by a special ceremony at Da Nang Station on April 30.
At Hanoi Station and Saigon Station, on the evening of April 29, Vietnam Railway also held a Thong Nhat train group farewell ceremony with many attractive and meaningful gifts for train passengers. The biggest welcoming ceremony will be held at noon on April 30 in Da Nang.
The Vietnamese railway industry hopes that each passenger on this train will be a happy passenger, to appreciate the value of Doc Lap - Tu Do and love their homeland and country more.
