At around 10:30 p.m. on September 8, while performing the task of finishing the checkpoint at the foot of Hoang Van Thu bridge, Captain Do Quang Trung - an officer of the Hong Bang Ward Police Department discovered people shouting about a person planning to commit suicide on Hoang Van Thu bridge.
Immediately after reporting the situation to the unit commander, Captain Do Quang Trung urgently approached, promptly stopped, encouraged and took the citizen to the ward police headquarters. Through verification, the person who intended to commit suicide was Mr. Q.H.C (born in 2005, residing in Gia Vien ward, Hai Phong city). Mr. Q.H.C said that due to getting bored with love affairs and negative thinking, he had a wild idea.
At around 11:30 p.m. the same day, after stabilizing his mentality and completing the necessary procedures, Hong Bang Ward Police handed Mr. C over to his family to continue monitoring, supporting and encouraging him.
On September 9, Ms. B.T.T.H, Mr. Q.H.C's mother, was very touched and sent a letter to the Director of the City Police, Hong Bang Ward Police, to thank her for promptly saving her son.
