The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Le Anh Quan, has just directed the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with agencies, units managing road infrastructure and commune-level People's Committees to review all management and use of road safety corridors; especially the temporary use of roadways and sidewalks for other purposes.
Units promptly handle cases of encroachment and illegal use of road safety corridors and road land; take responsibility if violations occur, threatening the safety of traffic infrastructure works. At the same time, strengthen inspection and prevent the risk of fire and explosion related to road infrastructure, avoid repeating incidents such as those that have occurred at the Vinh Tuy bridge underpass (Hanoi). Along with that, organize inspections, ensure full fire safety conditions for transport infrastructure, comply with Decree No. 105/2025/ND-CP dated May 15, 2025 of the Government on fire prevention and fighting management.
Traffic infrastructure management units coordinate with the City Police force to strengthen patrols and controls; promptly detect and strictly handle cases of using traffic infrastructure to violate regulations on fire prevention and fighting, including the act of using under-ground bridges as illegal parking lots.
In addition, plan to immediately relocate parking lots out of the protection area of road infrastructure (if any) before October 30, 2025, prioritizing investment in the construction of parking lots that meet the standards according to the approved planning, meeting the demand for static traffic in the city's central urban areas.
