Ho Chi Minh City - Functional units are conducting reviews and supplementing barriers to prevent livestock from entering the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.

On May 7, Chau Pha Commune People's Committee (HCMC) just issued a document requesting relevant units to strengthen safety assurance on the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway section passing through the area.

According to Chau Pha Commune People's Committee, after the expressway was put into temporary operation on April 30 - May 1, the situation of livestock such as cows and goats herded by people going into the safety corridor, even into the expressway section, has appeared.

In addition, there is a situation where people stop on people's bridges spanning the expressway, with the risk of throwing objects at vehicles traveling at high speed below, which may cause serious traffic unsafety.

Therefore, Chau Pha Commune People's Committee requests the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board - Management Board No. 8 to urgently survey the entire route through the commune to assess potential locations with traffic unsafety risks, especially areas where people regularly pass through or graze livestock.

Thereby, soon install and supplement a system of dangerous warning signs, no-stopping and no-parking signs, no-throwing objects onto the expressway; inspect, reinforce and supplement protective fences and barriers at missing or damaged locations, to prevent people and livestock from entering the safety corridor area and the expressway section.

In addition, Chau Pha Commune People's Committee also assigned functional units to review the system of protective fences along the route, inspect people's bridges crossing the expressway to propose supplementing warning signs and prohibition signs appropriately. Request Chau Pha Commune Police to strengthen patrols and inspections at people's bridge areas, where people often graze livestock; promptly remind and handle violations according to regulations.

The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that immediately after receiving information, it and related units organized a field survey along the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway section passing through Ho Chi Minh City to review locations where people and livestock are prone to intrusion. Through this, it is necessary to add barriers, reinforce protective fences and install warning signs to limit the risk of traffic accidents.
