Hai Phong Department of Education and Training donated 1.2 billion VND to support storm recovery

Hai Phong - On the afternoon of October 8, the Department of Education and Training of Hai Phong City presented funds to support people in the city affected by storm No. 3.

At the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City, leaders of the Department of Education and Training and the Hai Phong Education Trade Union presented 1.2 billion VND to support Hai Phong people affected by storm No. 3.

It is known that by 10:30 on October 7, the Hai Phong Education sector had mobilized nearly 4 billion VND along with many gifts in kind to support the recovery of damage caused by storm No. 3. Of which, more than 3.2 billion VND was donated by collectives, individuals, officials, teachers, workers, students, and philanthropists in Hai Phong city; 700 million VND from the Vietnam Education Trade Union, the Ministry of Education and Training (GDDT), and the Departments of Education and Training of other provinces to help recover from damage caused by storm No. 3 in Hai Phong city.

The Education Sector and the Trade Union of the sector awarded funds to support 237 teachers, workers, 1,149 students, and preschool children with a total budget of 1,737,000,000 VND. Along with that, visiting and supporting education in the northern mountainous provinces damaged by storm No. 3 is 301 million VND and 4 vehicles of in-kind items (books, supplies, clothes); giving the Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) of Hai Phong City 1.2 billion VND. The remaining amount will be based on the actual situation of the units to review, supplement and propose support. In case there are no more subjects, it will be proposed to transfer to the Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city to support the damaged people.
