The project to renovate and upgrade the Lo Te - Rach Soi route has a total investment of about 750 billion VND. The 51.5km long route, passing through Can Tho city and Kien Giang province (now An Giang province), has so far reached more than 72% of the contract value.
On August 2, My Thuan Project Management Board said that the project started on June 13, 2024 and the completion schedule according to the contract is September 2025. Currently, 100% of the road foundation recycling scraping has been completed.
For the first layer of asphalt concrete pavement (C19), 45/49km is needed (reaching 91%), expected to be completed with the reinforcement of 48 culverts on the route before August 15, 2025. In addition, contractors are paving 17/49km of layer 2 concrete (C16) to reach 35% and are expected to complete before August 30, 2025.
Regarding the completion of the traffic safety system and inauguration in September 2025, meeting the contract schedule.
The My Thuan Project Management Board added that contractors are currently maintaining 22 simultaneous construction teams at the construction site with more than 80 construction equipment and machines. Along with that, there are 200 technical staff, drivers and workers working continuously; organizing overtime at many levels to determined to complete the project as directed by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Construction.
Regarding the solution to ensure the project is completed on schedule and with quality, My Thuan Project Management Board said that it has directed the contractor to adjust the progress and construction plan in the direction instead of constructing the "shelving" vertically, switching to priority construction to complete 1 layer of C19 asphalt concrete along the entire route and requiring completion before August 15, 2025.
Complete all 2 layers of asphalt concrete before August 30, 2025, ensuring the completion of the entire project in September 2025.
